Holiday Accommodation Society members can make bookings at friendly society holiday homes, enter a ballot for the Society's own timeshare, and obtain discounted costs for accommodation at selected hotels and motels. They have also been granted access to holiday accommodation owned by New Zealand Railways Staff Welfare Trust. Separate annual membership of the Trust at a cost of $40 is a requirement. Enquiries concerning membership of the Trust should first be made to the Society as the Trust requires confirmation of membership. New Zealand Holiday Homes As low as $55.00 per night (GST inclusive), each holiday home is fully equipped with modern appliances. All you need to supply is linen and cleaning materials. Homes are situated in: Manchester Unity Friendly Society - Kerikeri, Paihia, Orewa, Whitianga, Mt Maunganui, Ohope, Taupo, Napier, Wellington, Nelson, Hanmer, Christchurch, Akaroa and Queenstown. New Zealand Railways Staff Welfare Trust - Paihia, Orewa, Auckland, Mt Maunganui, Ohope, Rotorua, Taupo, Gisborne, Napier, New Plymouth, Paraparaumu, Wellington, Picton, Nelson, Westport, Kaikoura, Hanmer, Christchurch, Timaru, Queenstown and Dunedin. Members are invited in January each year to enter a ballot for the timeshare of their choice, to be taken during the following calendar year. The cost of accommodation to successful applicants is based upon the annual maintenance charge as levied to the Society by the timeshare resort. Successful applicants may exchange the week drawn at the Society's timeshare for another resort located either in New Zealand or globally at an additional cost through use of a timeshare exchange company.
