The Hibernian Catholic Benefit Society's core business is providing benefit funds and assistance to its members. The Hibernians achieve this through a wide range of financial benefits and services for all ages.

Along with these benefits and services the Society has a simple philosophy - Catholics helping Catholics.

Established in New Zealand in 1869, the Hibernian Society has total assets of $9.6m.

The Society is registered as a friendly society under the Friendly Societies and Credit Unions Act 1982, with membership open to Catholics and non-Catholic spouses of Catholics. Membership is currently 2,700 and there are 21 branches throughout New Zealand.

The ordinary office hours of the Society are Monday to Thursday, 8.30am - 4.30pm. The office is closed on Friday.
